Heavy Rotation People love to dance to music they recognize and that moves them with great beats, melodies, and messages. Some of the hottest hits are sexy, raw, and demanding, upbeat or slow. Artists I have on "heavy rotation" right now include: David Guetta, LMFAO, jojoflores, Bee Gees, S.O.S. Band, Freemasons, Austra, Alcazar, Chris Brown, Chic, Sister Sledge, AC/DC, KC & The Sunshine Band, Larry Levan, Junip...the list goes on, and is always changing.
The link above takes you to spreadsheets showing my music listening habits from September 1985 to March 1987, during which time I painstakingly marked each listen of a record in my collection, then tabulated these for a daily Top 10. The top 10 were awarded points, which were then added up for monthly "charts".
The first sheet shows a bunch of Top 10s, www.canadagoosejakke.co including which artists had the biggest increase or drop of points in the 2nd year. The second sheet shows further details for each of the two full-years, and the five months I still kept track in year 3.
This all happened during the push to support Canadian pop and rock artists (CanCon). It was easy supporting the artists as I loved the music.
I only recently "discovered" the duotangs that contained these daily trackers, and it's allowed me to seek out artists that I had long forgotten about, having long-ago sold my LP collection. Enjoy!
